TV and Radio
I have appeared on many weather related programs, been interviewed on national and local radio and I have helped to co-present a program for the BBC. I have many great stories to tell of close encounters with deadly storms from sheltering from a tornado in the deep freeze of a restaurant to standing 100 yards from a tornado while being pelted by giant hailstones. Best of all my stories are all backed up with broadcast quality video, much of which is HD.
I understand the weather and know how and why severe weather occurs and I can explain it in an easy to understand manner. As a television professional for over 15 years I know and understand the way the industry works and feel comfortable both behind and in front of the camera. Because I am freelance I am able to work around difficult schedules and can devote as much of my time as needed to longer projects.
I have all the equipment needed to file news reports from the field, from the very heart of the storm, including the ability to send video via mobile or satellite phones or the internet. Often storms will make it very difficult to use conventional satellite uplinks and local feed points often fail due to power outages. I have laptops for location editing and encoding and can send reports and clips via the internet very quickly.
So whether your next project needs a severe weather expert for an interview or you need someone to report on a severe weather event that has the experience and equiment to do so safely please contact me.
